A panel of sports media professionals will discuss why coverage of sports is especially important in today’s society, not only in terms of entertainment but in events and issues that go well beyond the games played in stadiums and arenas. We’ll talk about sports-related stories that have been in the news headlines recently, what professionals in the field need to know to report on them effectively and how they go about it. We will also talk about the games and competition, the athletes, coaches and managers. Of course we’ll talk about money. And we’ll involve the audience in a Q&A session followed by a chance to chat with the media pros on hand.
