Los Angeles: Syracuse University’s Home on the West Coast

There are 2,700 miles between Syracuse University and LA, but when you consider the number of Syracuse University students who come from the Los Angeles area, the number of graduates who have found success there, and the number of LA alumni who support Syracuse University both financially and with their time and energy, it’s clear that the two locations have an up-close and personal relationship.

What is it that has ingrained Syracuse University into the fabric of LA?

  • The vast network of Syracuse University alumni. Thousands of LA alumni open doors for Syracuse University grads in the worlds of entertainment, the arts, media, journalism, and more. Read about some of them.
  • Syracuse University’s presence in the LA region enables Syracuse University to attract and interview promising applicants for admission at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
  • Immersive learning experiences. From Syracuse University’s “SULA Semester” to week-long trips to LA’s entertainment and media empires, Syracuse University students get an intense, unvarnished look at what it takes to succeed in their chosen fields.
  • A number of LA-area alumni, parents, and friends serve in Syracuse University volunteer leadership positions, including 21 who are members of the LA Regional Council.

Our Office

SU in LA office

Syracuse University's regional office in Los Angeles is a home away from home for all Syracuse University alumni, parents, students, and future students. In addition, it is the base of operation for academic programming and special alumni events.

To build and maintain connections with the growing number of alumni on the West Coast, the University established an alumni center in Los Angeles in 2005. With a remarkable growth in academic programs and alumni events, the center was soon outgrown. In 2024, the University established a new satellite campus, moving into larger facilities at 5250 Lankershim Blvd in North Hollywood. The 22,000-square-foot space includes offices and classrooms, as well as conference rooms for workshops and meeting with prospective students.
