What was your major/degree?
I majored in Public Health.
How did your experiences at SU shape your career?
My time at Syracuse was crucial in shaping my career because it allowed me to merge my passion for health and media. The internship I gained during my time with SU in LA played a significant role in helping me land my first job after college.
What was your first job after college?
After graduating, my first job was as a Production Assistant on the TV show Say Yes to the Dress. I worked on set providing camera support and assisting the production and post-production teams by transcribing video interviews, logging footage, and creating subtitles for the editors.
What has been a major highlight of your career thus far?
One of the major highlights of my career so far has definitely been attending the Oscars for two consecutive years! It’s been an incredible experience that I’ll never forget. From walking the red carpet to being in the midst of the production of this event, the whole atmosphere was beyond surreal. Being able to witness the glamour and excitement up close has been an unforgettable moment in my career.
How have you stayed connected to SU?
I stay connected to Syracuse through my community. Whenever anyone from my year, the year above, or the year below has an event in the city, I always make it a point to show up and reconnect. I also recently returned to Syracuse University this past fall for Coming Back Together (CBT) weekend, which happens every three years. It’s a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with the Cuse community, catch up with old friends, make new ones, and celebrate the achievements of Black and Latino alumni. I absolutely loved that weekend—it truly felt like I was transported back to college days at SU.
What is your favorite memory of Syracuse University?
My favorite memory of Syracuse University was Own the Dome, an overnight event for admitted students. It was the first time I got to meet my classmates from my year, and I made lifelong friends that night! Plus, how often do you get the chance to sleep in a dome overnight? It was truly a memorable experience with over 500 students just having one big sleepover!
