SULA Summer Semester launching in May

    hollywood

Syracuse University students can spend the summer working and studying in Los Angeles thanks to a new summer program offered by the Syracuse University Los Angeles Semester

“We are excited to build on the success of our LA Semester by offering another option for students to participate in our program,” says Robin Howard, program director. “We also feel the courses we will offer in the summer, which are different from what we offer in the spring and fall, will appeal to a broader range of SU students.”

The 12-week, 6-credit program, which will begin in Summer 2016, is open to rising juniors and seniors with a minimum G.P.A. of 3.0 who are in good standing with the University. Students in the summer program must enroll in four courses:

    • COM 346 : Race, Gender and the Media
    • ICC 400: Digital Media and Innovation in Los Angeles
    • TRF 400: The Media Ecosystem in Los Angeles
    • COM 300: Los Angeles Internship Experience

Internships play an important role in the SULA Semester experience, and staff work with students to ensure that they secure positions. Students may intern up to 40 hours a week.

More information about the summer program can be found online.

Launched in Fall 2009, the SULA Semester program engages students in professional internships, specialized course work and regular interactions with industry leaders on the West Coast.
